British MMS prescriber suspended

Posted 07 December 2015

The British General Medical Council has suspended the registration of Dr. Finbar Magee. [Houston L. Alternative medicine row doctor is suspended by GMC. Belfast Telegraph, Nov 26, 2015]

MMS (Miracle Mineral Solution), an industrial-strength bleach derivative that has been marketed for many health problems, has been subjected to enforcement actions in several countries because it is ineffective and dangerous.

Last May, an RTE Prime Time television documentary focused on Magee’s prescription of MMS for the treatment of an autistic child. His interim suspension follows a panel ruling last December which restricted his practice to closely supervised practice at his clinic. Magee has operated Synergy Healthcare in Belfast, Ireland, for many years, which offers a wide range of offbeat treatments. The GMC’s concerns about him have not yet been disclosed but are likely to be related to his advocacy of MMS. Interim suspension is usually followed … Read the rest

Major MMS marketer curbed in Illinois

The Illinois Attorney General has obtained an agreement under which Kerri Rivera is barred from promoting Miracle Mineral Supplement (MMS) as an autism cure in Illinois. MMS contains a 28% solution of sodium chlorite, which, when mixed with an acid such as citrus juice, produces chlorine dioxide (ClO2), a potent bleach used for stripping textiles and industrial water treatment. High oral doses, such as those recommended in MMS labeling, can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and severe dehydration.

ASA Ruling: Bio Sil MMS

Posted 26 July 2014

In a previous ASA ruling against this company, (21 May 2012), the ASA ruled, inter alia, that the respondent’s advertising for its “Bio-Sil MMS” contained unsubstantiated claims in contravention of Clause 4.1 of Section II of the Code. It also found that the advertisement was likely to mislead people in a manner that was in contravention of Clause 4.2.1 of Section II of the Code. The respondent was instructed to withdraw the advertising in its current format within the deadlines stipulated in Clause 15.3 of the Procedural Guide, and is not used again in future. An Ad Alert was issued to the ASA members with reference to the advertisement, asking members not to accept any advertising for the respondent’s.

Miracle Mineral Solution (MMS) – beware!

Posted 21 May 2012

There is so much evidence that MMS is nothing but a scam, yet so many consumers still believe the product works – more supported by absolute faith than a shred of evidence to support the claims. The claims become more bizarre.

A complaint was laid with the ASA against this website advertising MMS, and making the most extraordinary claims.

They did not respond to the ASA and the ASA ruled against the claims being made for the product.

MMS (Miracle Mineral Solution), still unsafe and a scam

Posted: 16 February 2012

We have previously posted about MMS (Miracle Mineral Solution).

There are a few individuals and companies still selling MMS in South Africa, in spite of evidence that this is a scam, lack of proof for claims, and inadequate safety data. One of these is Biosil.co.za. Another is www.cancercure.co.za which redirects you to http://www.faithdrops.mu/. Tina van der Maas, of “beetroot, garlic and lemon for AIDS/HIV” fame, also promotes this product for AIDS, Malaria and Cancer. Surely a death sentence.

Locally the seller/manufacturer of this scam product are:

They claim that the product is registered with the Medicines Control Council. A complete lie.

Health Canada has weighed in, stating: “Health Canada is advising Canadians that using Read the rest

Miracle Mineral Solution (MMS) – ASA ruling

Posted 15 September 2011

“MMS – The Miracle Mineral Solution is a ‘’stabilised oxygen’’ formulation that is a 28% solution of Sodium Chlorite in distilled water. When a mild acid (lemon or lime juice, or citric acid) is added to the few drops of MMS, Chlorine Dioxide is created and when ingested, produces a major boost to the immune system, killing virtually every known pathogen, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, molds and yeasts.”

Really?

Actually sheer balderdash.
